Does spirituality have a place at work?

Attention is the highest and purest form of generosity
Does spirituality have a place at work?

Does spirituality have a place in our work?

Well if this quote resonates the answer may surprise you...

Simone Weil was a French philosopher who was well published and the subject of much scholarship. Her work become more noticed after she'd died. Her faith grew as she got older and was a devout Christian.

I first learned of Simone when reading a book called "The Mindful Our Father" by Thomas G Casey SJ.

My spirituality is at the cornerstone of my life and therefore is something that goes with me everywhere, into every setting.

I believe that there is absolutely space for spirituality at work and there are more studies showing the positive impact of this. It's not about religion, it's about connecting with the inner life that we all have.

In my case, I'm a Catholic and have recently learned that the work I do, specifically the coaching & facilitation, is another form of prayer. This fills me with gratitude as I am now able to reflect on my work as being prayerful. God knows I need it.

So, the quote from Simone was a reflect of how I endeavour to be with every client engagement and I have witnessed the transformative power of this first hand.
